Choc Choc
Meet Choc Choc!
Choc Choc is 10 year old short haired Chihuahua looking for his furever home. He’s an affectionate and loyal companion dog, who loves cuddles and is always quietly by your side as you go about your day. He is very healthy and sprightly meaning he is often mistaken for a much younger dog.
He is currently homed with two small breed dogs that he gets along very well with (after a slow introduction) and two cats. He has no interest in guinea pigs or rabbits or birds.
Choc Choc loves people. He gets along very well with adults and older children but will not be suited to a home with young children. He becomes overwhelmed with large, noisy or boisterous groups of children, dogs or adults and will bark, growl and/or nip if he cannot escape quickly. He is not suited to toddlers without extremely close supervision but loves older children and will happily share the couch, especially if they scratch his belly, behind his ears or take him for walks.
Due to his history, he has only recently discovered long walks, night-time walks and being offlead in dog parks although now he’s become very enthusiastic about walks.
That said he still startles easily at night and may need you to hold him. At dog parks he needs the security of his lead (and often being held) to feel safe if larger dogs are around – or if the noise level/boisterousness becomes too much. He prefers the early morning quiet times when the parks are all ours to explore with just his two buddies.
Choc Choc loves sharing food with his humans and is also very good at sharing food with our two dogs and also the cats… He has no formal training but is very clever, learning routines quickly and following the other dogs lead. He would love the individual attention and the challenge of having someone putting the time and attention into leading him through a formal training course.
Choc choc loves cuddles and sleeps in bed with his human. He doesn’t take up much room, usually sleeps under the covers, and he doesn’t snore either, so it is very easy to forget he is there! As long as he is taken outside to toilet before bed and first thing in the morning there are no messes either.
He is missing a large patch of fur on his back after being burnt when he was young.
Choc Choc will be a perfect addition to a calm and quiet household, he is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, flea & worm treated and his adoption fee is $50. He is currently located in Sheidow Park
