She thrives in the company of someone she trusts and, with patience and love, will reward her new family with incredible loyalty and affection. This athletic little girl can jump a metre from a standing start and loves to play – whether it’s chasing balls, entertaining herself with noisy toys, or enjoying games with you. Melody has shown she can be calm around cats (after a polite sniff, she moved on), but hasn’t had the chance to properly meet many dogs yet. She wasn’t impressed by one very full-on little pomeranian, but with the right introductions she may do well. She can be a bit unsure about new experiences – for example, getting into the car or starting out on a walk – but once she’s settled, she enjoys exploring and sniffing her surroundings. With patience, she continues to improve every day. Melody has learned how to use a doggy door, responds well to a firm but gentle “no,” and is showing her clever side as she grows in confidence. She is still startled by some loud household noises (like the vacuum or leaf blower), but thunderstorms don’t seem to worry her. She can be shy with strangers, but with time and a tasty treat she comes around. She’s not a big barker – though she may let out a little howl if she wants something or hears an ambulance. Melody is an affectionate, loyal young dog who deserves a patient, loving home where she can continue to blossom. She has already made huge progress, and with the right people by her side, her potential is limitless. Melody has been exposed to sheep, ducks, horses, and cattle. She would really shine as the only pet in the home, without small dogs or other animals Melody comes desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Adoption fees are to be paid in full when dog is collected for their trial. If for any reason the trial doesn't work out, the dog can be returned and your adoption fee will be refunded less the administration fee (specified on adoption contract, varies per dog).
