7-8 Year-Old Male Black & Tan Kelpie Meet Sarge, a true old-school farm dog looking for a home that understands and appreciates the working breed he is. Sarge is an ex-working dog who has spent his life around stock, tractors and utes. He absolutely loves being outdoors and is happiest when he has space to roam, a job to supervise, and his beloved raised kennel to retreat to at the end of the day or when unsupervised. While Sarge is a friendly and well mannered boy, he does become anxious indoors, so he is seeking an outdoor only home. He is good with children, gets along well with other dogs, and has lovely manners around people – he doesn't jump up and is respectful of personal space. Sarge has excellent recall to a whistle and understands some working commands, but he has not had formal ‘pet dog’ training. He is not suited to suburban or town living and will need a knowledgeable, confident handler who can provide clear, fair leadership and an environment where he can thrive. If you're a retired farmer, live on acreage, or simply understand and love traditional working Kelpies, Sarge could be the loyal companion you've been looking for.
