Meet Bailey <3
Cheeky and playful and, quite frankly a charmer, she is an independent, approximately one year old lady, with a mind of her own and a true love affair with roast chicken.
Best suited to a home with another cat, Bailey gets along well with dogs, other cats, and is very familiar with guinea-pigs and older children.
Bailey is amazingly resilient and her tiny delicately feminine frame belies her strength of character. She has overcome enormous challenges in foster care since being rescued from the streets where she was living as a feral cat underneath an industrial dumpster and being harassed by feral tomcats and exposed to the weather extremes. When Bailey entered the care of Paws and Claws she was dangerously underweight, on heat, covered in tomcat spray, infested with fleas and worms, had scratches and rough and dirty fur, along with chronic ear and gum infections. After antibiotics, her ears and gums healed up beautifully, but unfortunately the vet had to surgically remove all of Bailey’s teeth due to the damage from such extensive infection for such a long time. But not even the lack of teeth slowed Bailey down!
She continued to gain weight, discovered the joys of playing with cat toys and now she eats everything that our other cats eat, soft, hard, biscuits, everything, even stealing the odd dog-treat when our dogs aren’t looking!! From such a rough start and beginning completely afraid and un-trusting of humans, Bailey has grown into her own skin with soft, glossy fur – And also grown in her trust in human kindness.
She now loves to hang out, sleep on the bed, play with toys, follow you around the house and have her back rubbed and ear scratched. She is mischievous and fun – Loving to “help” fold the towels with you and give you advice in the kitchen (hint: apparently there is no such thing as too much catnip or roast chicken in any meal ever!!).
Although we are uncertain of her exact birthday, Bailey is approximately one year old. Bailey is a remarkable and very special young cat and is much loved – She will be a wonderful addition to any home where she can continue to play and learn and love and share her sense of humour with her human and fur family.
Currently fostered in Sheidow Park, she is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated. Her adoption fee is $90.
