Hey! I’m Ricky.
I’m a cute little 1 year old boy who spent a lot of my life on the streets so I’m still learning the ways of a comfy home life! I’m shy at first but I like my pats and every day I trust a little more. I already love my soft bed and my always full bowl. I’ve made friends with a dog and my favourite place in the whole world is the scratching post with a cat house in it!
Ricky has only been with us for a shirt time and is still shy so will take time to come out of his shell fully in his new home. He will benefit from a patient home who understands he will need a few weeks to settle in.
He’s friendly and quiet but he’s not a cat who will be out playing straight away until he trusts you.
He will take time to get to know any new furry family members but is more accepting of his human family. He’s not aggressive to other cats or dogs but takes a little while to make friends with them. He lived with a colony of cats before so they usually are more accepting of other cats 🙂
He does give little love bites when happy and getting a good scratch!
Ricky is FIV positive. This is no longer a death sentence for cats who can easily outlive a normal cat when given the proper care. Essentially it lowers the cats immunity, so you need to keep them safe inside (Ricky is looking for a strictly indoor only home), feed them good quality food, vaccinate them every year, and take them to the vet when they’re unwell! Same as every cat!
FIV is only passed to other cats from deep bite wounds and not from playfighting, grooming or sharing bowls. It can only be passed to other cats and not humans or other animals. Cats can be vaccinated against it. But if the cats all get along then it’s not likely to be spread to other cats.

Ricky is currently located in Elizabeth Downs. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and his adoption fee is $50.
