Some kittens are just Special and need to find the perfect home just for them!
When I first got Dexter he was very timid and would hide in the corner of the room staring up at me with beady little black eyes. He was a bit creepy to be honest. He would raise his little head up making sure he knew where I was at all times. As I do with all my fosters, Dexter was given space and time to settle in and learn to trust me, his foster cat and dog brothers.
He was fostered with his brother, Diesel, who is his ultimate bestie and 3 tiny kittens from another litter. A gang of misfits. Before I knew it Dexter was in love with the 3 babies and would help bath them and more importantly turned them into tough lil kittens through all the rough housing and wrestling.
He loves to play and run around the house while carrying his favourite little mouse toy in his mouth and will hide it somewhere only he knows until next play time.
After a visit to the vet and an eye specialist, it all made sense why Dexter has to look up at you to see where you are all the time and is a lot happier when the house is calm and everyone is relaxing. He has no eyelids. This means he can’t see things far away or at a 360 degree view. However, this in no way slows him down once he feels safe and wont affect him in the future.
Dexter has definitely made his way into my heart. He is an absolute snuggly boy who loves pats and cuddles. He will melt into your hand and awkwardly gently pat your hand to insist on more pats if you stop. He has the loudest purr and will roll onto his back for belly scratches.
He is very intelligent and already comes running to his name when called. His favourite time of the day is the morning. He has worked out that if he skips morning play with all the other kittens he can come up on my bed for a big snuggle session with lots of love and attention.
If you think you could be that special someone for Dexter, please apply to adopt him. Strictly indoor and preferably a quiet home where Dexter can take time to settle in and familiarise himself in his new surroundings. He has definitely pulled at my heart strings and I guarantee he will yours.
Dexter is 18 weeks old and has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. His adoption fee is $190 and he is living with his foster family in Salisbury East.
