Stella
Stella is a 2yr old intelligent, gorgeous and funny beagle, looking for a family who will show her the love that she so desperately deserves.
Stella was rescued from a puppy farm, so has had a very sad start to her young life. She had very little human contact, never knew a collar or lead, didn’t have her own bowl, or toys and saddest of all, didn’t even have her own name.
She is very timid and still gets scared by sudden movement and loud new noises, but with lots of cuddles and reassurance she is learning to relax. She has shown signs of her fun puppy side and has provided her foster carer lots of laughs while she is discovering her surroundings.
Stella is great in the car, and loves going to the beach, and is learning to walk on a lead.
As with all beagles, she loves all food and has worked out quickly the sound of her food bowl being filled with her dinner.
Stella still needs lots of patients and understanding, as she is still learning how to be a dog, and that humans are good and her new family will give her lots of cuddles and will protect her.
The home that Stella needs will have to have a fur sister or brother that will continue to teach her more doggy skill and how to behave as a family dog, and she is not fussed by cats.
Stella has been scared of humans in the past, so is still learning to trust people. She would suit an active couple, but is happy to just sit with you for cuddles. She would possibly be wary of children, but with time she would really thrive with kids and she would be a loyal member of any family.
Since being in foster care, Stella has learnt to use the doggy door so no accidents inside. There has been no signs of digging or of jumping fences, but she will need to be in a secure backyard.
Stella is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as flea and wormed. Her adoption fee is $500 and she is located in the Yorke Peninsula with her foster family.
