Tia
Tia is a 5-year-old Jack Russell X Chihuahua who has special needs and will need a dedicated owner who will be willing to engage a professional behaviourist to help manage her anxiety.
Tia loves her Mum and is very selective about who she will let pat her.
Tia has anxiety which presents as her being aggressive when people she doesn’t know approach her or her home. She will approach barking then back off then approach again.
Tia is happy at home during work days and enjoys a daily walk. Tia loves car rides and if she could, would drive for days. When visitors come over, Tia self-settles with a raw hide chew on her day bed. When she is tired and waiting for her Mum to go to bed, she will burrow under a rug on her day bed.
Tia is very scared of other dogs and children, so dog parks and playgrounds are a no-go zone and a home with no children or dogs is preferred.
Tia owner is moving overseas for two years at the end of March and will be assisting in the transition of Tia into her new home.
Paws & Claws Adoptions has had an initial assessment performed to see if we can get Tia on anxiety medication, however her blood analysis demonstrated elevated liver and kidney enzymes. Both elevations were mild in nature but still warrant further investigation before dispensing medication.
Paws & Claws, at a partner vet, will be covering the costs associated with investigating and treating the elevated liver and kidney enzyme levels. The rescue will also be covering the initial costs of getting her on anxiety medication and the costs of an initial behavioural consultation.
Tia is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, her adoption fee is $200 and is located with her owner in Evandale.
