Odie
Meet Odie
Odie is a male, Maltese x and close to 5 years old. He loves walks, sticking his head out the car window and meal times. When not walking he is relaxed and chilled at home. Once he has warmed up to you, Odie prefers to be inside with you and will happily lay in his bed or on your lap in the evening. However, he will also spend time outdoors curled up in the sun. He has had his lower two teeth removed due to infection. Due to this sometimes it can look like he has a snarl on his face but its just the way his teeth sit 😬
He can be shy when meeting someone for the first time and can growl and try to nip but he does respond well if you show him authority and leadership – give him a stern ‘NO’ when he misbehaves in this way. Odie picks things up quickly and responds well to verbal praise, the key is just to be consistent.
We found it is best to let Odie come to you rather then approach him for a pat. He settled in and warmed up to us quickly. With professional one on one dog traning these small behavioural issues can be fixed.
Once Odie is comforable he will show you affection with licks to the face, cuddling up on the couch and rolling onto his back for belly rubs. He really is a gorgeous little soul and will want to be close to you. He sleeps in his own bed at night time but also likes to sleep on the bed with his carers if allowed. He is more suited to be an inside dog.
A couple with no children or a single person would be the best family environment for Odie. A family who can give him walks daily and be patient, loving but stern, is what Odie needs.
Odie has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea & worm treated. His adoption fee is $300 and he is currently living in Modbury.
