Why was my family not chosen?

At Paws & Claws Adoptions, we prioritise the well-being of our animals and match them with the family we believe will suit them best. Our process begins with a review of the questionnaires submitted by potential adopters and may include further discussions and meetings.

Applications to adopt our animals can be numerous and it takes time to process them all. As a small, non-profit, volunteer-run organisation, we do not have the resources to maintain a waitlist. However, our goal is to match each animal with the best possible family.

While some families may not be the best fit for a particular animal, this does not mean they are not ideal adopters. If you are unsuccessful, we encourage you to apply for another animal that may be a better match in the future.

Please understand that we are doing our best with the resources we have, and any form of abuse or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. We have many adopters who have tried multiple times before finding the animal that suits them best.

Keep in mind that as a rescue, we do not breed our animals, so the types of animals available for adoption can vary throughout the year. You can keep updated on new animals available for adoption by checking our Facebook page and website.

Thank you for your understanding and for considering adoption.
