Affogato B0315 and Short Black B0318 – Bonded Pair
Introducing Affie and Shortie, AKA Affogato and Short Black, a bonded pair know as the coffee brothers.
Affie and Shortie are 19 month old manx-cross brothers looking for a quiet forever home to share with some humans. These beautiful boys have been in foster care since they were kittens and had a tough start to life, affecting the development of Affie’s left eye and upper respiratory tract. Both issues are very manageable – his eye needs a wipe every couple days, and he can suffer from flu symptoms (sneezing). With prompt care & lots of love, he take’s it all in his stride to live a happy & playful life.
Affie is a big cat with a big voice to match – he’ll never let you forget when its meal time, with shortie providing the softer backup vocals. Affie will also call out to Shortie if he’s got something important to show him, or wants to play – daily exercise usually involving a game of chasey, and a session grooming each other turned into a wrestling match. Aside from morning and afternoon shenanigans, they are quite happy snoozing the day away, so could be suitable for someone working full time. They would also suit a home with people around during the day, so long as they have a quiet nook to nap.
Traditionally Manx can be wary of strangers but are very bonded to their humans – this is very true for the coffee boys. They would suit a home with one or two people they can get to know and feel safe around. Sensitive to loud noises, Shortie usually retreats to his safe place under the bed when there is too much commotion or new people around, so would probably not be suitable for a home with children. Affie is very brave and will investigate new people but shortie needs a bit more encouragement – treats usually do the trick!
They enjoy pats and being groomed, with Affie usually opting to sleep on the foot of the bed at night, or snuggling up next to you on the couch. Once you have gained Shortie’s trust, he will gladly flop over for belly rubs, pats and a brushing session.
They love any opportunity to listen and watch birds outside through the screen door or window and would thrive with access to an outdoor cat run. Otherwise they require an indoor only home due to Affie’s respiratory vulnerability.
These handsome boys have been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, wormed & vet checked. Their adoption fee is just $20 each as their foster family would very much like to see them find a forever home to settle in & enjoy. They are currently in foster care in Glandore whilst looking for a forever home.
